What do Gippsland Carers Do?

We deliver services, peer support, information, education and advocacy to family carers across Gippsland and beyond. These services include:

Carers Place –  a shop front centre in the CBD of Morwell that is open to the public every Tuesday and Wednesday and staffed by volunteers. Phone 03 5133 3343

Information, assistance and advocacy is offered via Carers Place, through email contact with Committee members This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., the written word, regular media contributions  and through telephone assistance that is provided by Committee of Management members anytime, because caring does not happen from 9am to 5pm. If you would like to talk to a Committee member, you can leave us a message on the email address above.

We publish a Quarterly newsletter The Gippsland Carer, which is Free for members. Click on 'Membership' from Home to download a membership application form.

We conduct Bi-annual Gippsland-wide Carer forums, which are held generally in May and for 'Carers Week' each year.

We balance local services with strong advocacy at state and federal level, such as:

  • Presenting a plethora of Submissions to Government Inquiries and Consultations over many years
  • Appearing  at Public Hearings - state and federal
  • Co-founding the National Carers Coalition (NCC)
  • Developing Nationwide links to volunteer carer support groups
  •

We are entirely voluntary and part of our work is involved in seeking the funding necessary to ensure we are able to continue our support to Carers in Gippsland and beyond. You may assist us in our activities by making a tax-deductible donation to support Gippsland Carers Association. Contact us
